Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a natural, non-corrosive gas that can be used as a substitute for liquid acid to lower pH in Commercial Swimming Pools and Spas. With CO2, there is no handling of corrosive acid containers, no corrosion of equipment from acid fumes, and no dangerous chemical reaction from accidental mixing of acid with chlorine. In addition, there is less danger of excessive low pH – the lowest pH value that can be attained is 6.8, even in runaway conditions.

The CO2 pH Control System comes assembled in a PVC junction box complete with regulator, solenoid and injection fitting with check valve. Gas cylinders are purchased separately from your local gas supplier.

Because CO2 increases alkalinity, the CO2 pH system is not recommended for applications where high alkalinity is a problem.
