Spa Chemical Treatment
Chlorine Level
2.0 to 3.0 ppm
Bromine Level
2.0 to 3.0 ppm
pH Level
7.4 to 7.6 ppm
- To Lower pH add OPAquatics Muriatic Acid (liquid) or OPAquatics Sodium Bisulphate (OPAquatics Pool Brite pH Control Minus) at the rate of 1 ˝ ounces per 500 gallons of water.
- To Raise pH add OPAquatics Soda Ash (OPAquatics Pool Brite pH Control Plus) at the rate of 1 ounce per 500 gallons of water.
Total Alkalinity Level
Chlorine - 60 to 125 PPM, Bromine - 100 to 150 ppm
- To Raise Total Alkalinity, add OPAquatics Sodium Bicarbonate (OPAquatics Pool Brite Alkalinity Up) at the rate of 1.2 ounces per 500 gallons of water. This will raise the Total Alkalinity 10 ppm.
- To Lower Total Alkalinity, add OPAquatics Muriatic Acid (Liquid) or Sodium Bisulphate (OPAquatics Pool Brite pH Control Minus) the rate of 1 ˝ ounces per 500 gallons of water.. This will lower Total Alkalinity 12 ˝ ppm.
Calcium Hardness Level
200 to 400 ppm
- To Raise Calcium Hardness, add OPAquatics Calcium Chloride (HDS Booster) at the rate of 1 ounce per 500 gallons of water. This will raise Calcium Hardness 10.8 ppm,
- To Lower Calcium Hardness, consult pool company. Add an OPAquatics Sequestering Agent OR Drain & add fresh water.
Shock Treatment
Add 8 to 10 ounces OPAquatics Liquid Bleach or Calcium Hypochlorite per 500 gallons of water every 2 days.
